The 2012 Blingstar AMA MAXC ATV Racing Series made its eighth stop of the ten round series in Gosport, Indiana for the Rally in the Valley.

With heavy rain and storms rolling in Friday night it was looking like MAXC Round 8 would without a doubt be a muddy race, but lady luck was on our side and the sun came out early Saturday morning drying up the track cutting the dust down and creating near perfect track conditions.

Located about an hour southwest of Indianapolis, Indiana MAXC Round 8 would take place just out side of Gosport, Indiana. The MAXC crew laid out an all-new never ridden course that featured around 10 miles of virgin trails. The track consisted of several open field sections, tight woods with several line choices, a few long hill climbs, and several deep and muddy creek crossings.

After placing second in MAXC Round 7 in Canaan, IN Cycra’s Jeff Craig once again took the podium rounding out the AA Class Podium.

“I finally pulled the holeshot. It was probably the first one in five years so that was pretty cool. I got into the woods and it was kind of slick. Then we got into all virgin stuff so it was real hard to follow the trail leading the way. I made it almost to the end and Adam (Bonneur) got me and we all took off from their and Adam (Bonneur) pulled away” said Spider Graphix’ Jeff Craig.

Finishing second place at MAXC Rally in the Valley was Chris Douglas. After starting around the front of the pack, Douglas made several passes into second place going into the woods. Douglas held his position until Rory Mead made the pass and then crashed placing Douglas back into second place before crossing the finish.

“I actually got a good start. Even though I had a bad jump. I was about fifth going into the first turn. By the time we went into the woods I was in second. The next couple laps Adam (Bonneur) got by and Rory (Mead) passed me and crashed. I was fairly close to Adam the first couple laps then he started to pull away, but I was happy how I rode” said Chris Douglas.

Taking his second win of the 2012 MAXC Racing season at AMA Mid America Cross Country Round 8 was Adam Bonneur. Starting at the back of the pack Bonneur made his way to the front of the pack to pass Jeff Craig to take the lead and the win.

“The first lap started kind of crazy. I think I had three kicks. Me and Rory (Mead) took off together and we were at the back of the pack. The first lap we were blazing the trail taking it easy and trying not to make any mistakes. I used it to my advantage and pushed through the pack to pass some people. Right before our first lap I ended up passing Jeff (Craig) and I had the lead from there on” said EKS Brand Goggles’ Adam Bonneur

In the Open A Class, Austin Lee took his fifth win of the 2012 MAXC Racing Season. #696 Luke Chilman from Commisky, IN placed second followed by #152 Dual Murphy who rounded out the Open A Class podium in third.

The Light C Class had one of the biggest turnouts this season. There were 30 entries making the Holeshot very interesting.  #319 Hunter Maddox would take the Light C Class win followed by #523 Paul Miller and #86 Jonathan Pfeffer placing first and second respectively.

Blingstar AMA MAXC Racing Series will head to Culver, Indiana located a little over 2 hours northeast of Indianapolis for MAXC Round 9 on October 13, 2012.
